My Approach
Authentic Music Making Backed By Science

Science Informed
My teaching is up-to-date with the current findings in Voice Science.
Your voice is comprised of tiny muscles that work together to make your individual sound. My approach is rooted in the anatomy and physiology of your voice. In lessons, we will train each of those muscles to increase your range and make singing easier and more efficient.

Personalized
Each student has unique goals. Every lesson is tailored to these goals and the preferences of the student. Depending on the learning style of the students, the structure of lessons can look really different. I work closely with each student to customize lessons to fit their needs.

Contemporary
My studio celebrates the importance of all styles of music. Students have control over the direction of their study by selecting music that they love to sing. Each contemporary genre has stylistic elements that make it unique. In lessons, I work with each student to add vocal elements appropriate to their desired style while accentuating their natural tone.

Kinesthetic
Our bodies and voices are so connected. Using physical gestures in the studio helps students unlock new ways to use their voices. When a student discovers a new part of their voice, we will work together to understand the sensation. This kinesthetic awareness promotes repeatability when learning new skills.

Accessible
It is my core belief that anyone that can speak can sing. My studio is a judgment-free zone where artists can explore their creativity freely. Whether you are just beginning your singing journey or are an experienced professional, singing requires vulnerability. Helping students develop trust in themselves and their voices is a top priority in my studio.

Fun!
Lessons are hard work, but they should always be fun! Singing requires a great deal of muscular coordination and an absence of tension. Many singers have psychological barriers that interfere with the body’s ability to sing with freedom. Having a good time in lessons not only is more enjoyable but is an important component in finding freedom in your voice.
